What Our Client Say About Us

What a wonderful experience I got from them. There are so many layers this days but most of them will try to trick you and take advantage of you, or take money and don’t do their job. Not this place!!! Ms Anna took a great care of me, and helped me all the way with such professionalism, care and honesty. I highly recommend this place and Ms Anna to do business with! Its worth every penny.

Thank you Ms Anna and your team again for helping me and taking care of me! You are the best!

    Dmitry S.

She was very helpful, she responded to all my questions very promptly during the application process. Successfully received Deferred Action. Great pleasure working with her. I would highly recommended her.

    Kevin N.

I went to Anna with some legal advise for a problem I was having with another company. The first thing I noticed that made me impressed, was her immediate sympathy for my problem. She wasn’t just a lawyer, but also a friend. She listened to all of my issues and then gave advise from both sides. She was honest in her opinion and gave me the advise I needed.

    Riverside Immigration Lawyer FAQs

How can I apply for an immigrant visa to the U.S.?

To apply for an immigrant visa, you need to have a qualifying sponsor, such as a family member or employer, who files a petition on your behalf (Form I-130 for family sponsorship or Form I-140 for employment-based immigration). Once the petition is approved, you will need to apply for the immigrant visa through the U.S. consulate or embassy in your home country.

What is the difference between an immigrant visa and a non-immigrant visa?

An immigrant visa allows a foreign national to live permanently in the U.S. and provides a path to obtaining a green card and, eventually, U.S. citizenship. In contrast, a non-immigrant visa is for temporary purposes such as tourism, business, or education, and holders must leave the U.S. once their visa expires or their purpose is fulfilled.

Can I apply for U.S. citizenship if I have a green card?

Yes, if you are a green card holder, you can apply for U.S. citizenship after holding the card for at least 5 years, or 3 years if you are married to a U.S. citizen. You’ll also need to meet continuous residency and physical presence requirements, pass a civics and English language test, and complete an interview with USCIS before being granted citizenship.

What happens if I overstay my visa in the U.S.?

Overstaying a visa can lead to serious consequences, including being barred from re-entering the U.S. for up to 10 years, depending on the length of the overstay. If your overstay is less than 180 days, you may not face long-term penalties, but if it’s longer, you could face deportation or become ineligible for future visas.

Can I change my visa status while in the U.S.?

Yes, you can apply to change your non-immigrant visa status while in the U.S. by filing Form I-539 with USCIS. For example, you can change from a tourist visa to a student visa or from a work visa to a different type of visa. However, you must meet specific eligibility criteria and apply before your current visa expires.

What is the process to sponsor a spouse for U.S. residency?

To sponsor your spouse for U.S. residency, you must file Form I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative) with USCIS. Once the petition is approved, your spouse will either apply for a visa through consular processing (if they are outside the U.S.) or adjust their status by filing Form I-485 if they are already in the U.S. The process typically includes a background check, medical exam, and an interview with USCIS or a consular officer. For expert legal support, consider North County Immigration.

Can I travel outside the U.S. while my green card application is pending?

Yes, but you must first apply for and receive Advance Parole by filing Form I-131 with USCIS before traveling. Advance Parole allows you to re-enter the U.S. while your green card application is still being processed. Traveling without this document could result in your green card application being considered abandoned.

What are the requirements for an H-1B visa?

To qualify for an H-1B visa, you must have a job offer from a U.S. employer for a position that requires specialized knowledge and at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Your employer must file a petition on your behalf, and the job must meet prevailing wage standards. The H-1B visa is subject to annual caps, so early application is essential.

Can I apply for asylum in the U.S.?

Yes, you can apply for asylum if you are already in the U.S. and have fled persecution due to race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group. You must file Form I-589 within one year of your arrival in the U.S. and provide evidence to support your claim. For expert legal support, consider North County Immigration.
