Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the consulate closed the second week of march 2020. Prior to the pandemic, it would take the consulate about 9-12 to schedule an interview at the CDJ Consulate once the case was in line for interview. The North County Immigration team was able to request an expedited appointment in this case as the petitioner is currently an essential worker in the US. We were able to expedite based on petitioner being considered an essential worker in the US who was in need of her husband’s presence in the country to help with their family needs. The Consulate approved our request and our client is currently expecting an interview date soon.
