The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced it will be publishing a proposal to increase the filing fees in the Federal Register that would apply to almost all immigration case types. The Fee hikes will help to cover an anticipated funding shortfall for USCIS. A preview of the proposal is available, which can be seen in this link. The new fees can be seen in Table 9 in page 86 of the document. The most significant hike is for I-690 (Application for Waiver of grounds of Inadmissibility), which has changed from $200 to $715, a 258% increase. Some other notable hikes include,
- I-129, Petition for Non Immigrant Worker, Changed from $325 to $460, a 42% increase
- I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancé, Changed from $340 to $535, a 57% increase
- I-131/I-131A, Application for Travel Document, Changed from $360 to $575, a 60% increase and,
- N-600/N-600K, Application for Certificate of Citizenship changed from $600 to $1170, a 95% increase.
