This past week, North County Immigration was able to halt the removal of a Brazilian national that was scheduled to be deported out of Houston International.  Our attorney Anna Hysell sought an emergency stay of removal before the Ninth Circuit arguing the removal order ICE was executing was the result of serious due process violations as she was never afforded a Portugese Interpreter during her proceedings.  The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals agreed, and within an hour, they issued the emergency stay precluding her removal.  ICE was then forced to pull our client from her transport and return her to California.  She now will be able to continue to pursue the reopening of her case for violations of her Constitutional rights.
